What is Incognito Mode in ChatGPT?

Most people only scratch the surface with ChatGPT, here is a powerful tip to take you to the next level… and check out the quick demo to learn more.

ChatGPT’s “Incognito Mode” also known as Temporary Chat, is a privacy feature designed to provide a fresh, memory-free interaction. No chat history is saved, and no memory is updated or used.

On the ChatGPT interface (web or app), there’s a little speech bubble icon in the top right corner. Click it to start a temporary chat (i.e., incognito mode). You’ll need to toggle it on for each new conversation thread.

It's great for asking sensitive or personal questions without leaving a trace in your conversation history. It also helps prevent bias from memory, giving you responses as if it were your first interaction. This is handy when you want fresh explanations or a different perspective.
