How to Combine Cells in Excel

If you’re looking for how to merge cells without losing data or how to combine text in Excel the right way, this approach keeps your spreadsheet intact!

Instead of merging cells and risking deleted values, use Flash Fill (Ctrl + E) or the TEXTJOIN function to combine text safely and efficiently.

Flash Fill lets you type the result once and automatically fill the rest.

TEXTJOIN allows you to combine cells dynamically so the result updates when your data changes.

This method works in Excel for Microsoft 365, Excel 2019, and newer versions.
