Is AI Video Worth It? Here’s My Take

AI video creation has come a long way, and I think it can be an incredibly powerful tool when you use it for the right things.

Where I find it especially useful is when you want to bring an idea to life quickly. Maybe you’re putting together a presentation and want something more engaging than a static slide. Or maybe you need a short video clip to help illustrate a concept, tell a story, or add a little more visual interest to a project. AI video tools can make that possible without needing a camera, actors, or an entire production setup.

That said, creating a great AI video usually isn’t as simple as typing one prompt and getting the perfect result.

It takes some experimentation. You might need to adjust your prompt, change the camera direction, tweak the style, or generate the same scene several times before you get something that looks the way you imagined.

These tools can save you a tremendous amount of time compared to traditional video production, but there’s still a creative process involved.

And there are a lot of AI video tools to choose from right now.

In many cases, I don’t think there’s necessarily one tool that’s going to be the best choice for everyone. A lot comes down to which interface you enjoy using and how you plan to create videos.

Some platforms operate using credits, where every generation uses a certain number of credits. That can work really well if you only create videos occasionally or want access to some of the latest models.

Personally, I also like platforms that offer a straightforward membership where you can create as much as you want. When you’re experimenting, you can burn through credits surprisingly quickly. Having the freedom to try another prompt, regenerate a scene, or test several different ideas without constantly thinking about how many credits you have left can make the creative process a lot more enjoyable.

Ultimately, AI video isn’t replacing creativity — it’s giving us another way to express it.

Whether you’re creating a presentation, marketing content, social media clips, training materials, or simply experimenting with an idea, these tools can help you create things that would have required significantly more time and resources just a few years ago.

The technology still isn’t perfect, and getting exactly what you want can take some patience. But when it works, the results can be pretty incredible.

And considering how quickly these tools are improving, I think AI video creation is only going to become a bigger part of how we create and communicate. - Kevin
