Kevin Stratvert Newsletter: AI Second Brain, ChatGPT Work, Claude Code and More!

This week, we’re exploring how AI can do more than simply answer questions - it can actually remember the information that matters to you!

We’ll show you how to create an AI second brain that automatically connects your emails, documents, meetings, notes, and conversations, then uses that information to answer questions and help complete real work.

We’re also featuring a beginner-friendly look at Claude Code for non-coders, a guide to creating realistic voices with AI, and a breakdown of ChatGPT Work - what it is, how it works, and why it could change the way you use ChatGPT.

Let’s dive in.

What is ChatGPT Work?

ChatGPT Work is an agent-style mode designed to complete larger, multi-step projects, not merely answer individual questions.

You describe the outcome you need, give it access to the relevant files, folders, websites, or connected services, and it works through the steps to produce a finished deliverable. You can watch its progress, provide additional information, change direction, and approve important actions.

A simple way to describe the difference is:

Chat: “Help me write the outline for a presentation.”

Work: “Review everything in this project folder, identify the key

findings, and build the finished presentation.”

What can you use it for?

Creating finished documents and presentations

You can select a folder containing reports, notes, spreadsheets, images, and other project materials, then ask Work to turn them into something usable, such as:

- PowerPoint presentation

- Written reports

- Spreadsheets or analysis

- Proposal or project brief

- Website or shareable internal resource

Working across multiple files

Instead of uploading documents one at a time and repeatedly explaining how they relate, you can give Work access to a local project folder in the desktop app. It can examine the files together and use that combined context to complete a project. You control which folder or files it can access.

Connecting to Gmail and other services

Through plugins and connected apps, Work can retrieve information from services such as Gmail and use it as part of a larger workflow. Plugins can combine integrations, specialized skills, and reusable workflow templates.

You might ask:

Review my emails from the last seven days, identify anything requiring a response, and draft a prioritized action list.

Automating recurring work

Work can also run tasks on a schedule. For example, you could ask for a Monday-morning email summary, a recurring business review, meeting preparation, or a scheduled campaign update. Scheduled tasks can be viewed and managed from the Scheduled section.
