Think you've already mastered ChatGPT?

Most people use ChatGPT to write emails, summarize documents, or answer questions—but that's just scratching the surface. With the right prompts, ChatGPT can become a coach, editor, decision-maker, and problem-solving partner. Here are five lesser-known tips that can help you get even more out of ChatGPT this week.

1) Turn ChatGPT into a Step-by-Step Coach

- Instead of asking for the full answer, ask ChatGPT to coach you one step at a time.

- Sample Prompt: Don't solve this for me. Act as my coach and only give me the next step. Wait for me to respond before continuing.

2) Have ChatGPT Critique Your Work

- Most people ask ChatGPT to create content. Fewer people ask it to improve their thinking.

- Sample Prompt: Pretend you're my toughest editor. Find the five biggest weaknesses in this email/presentation/proposal and explain how to improve them.

3) Build Your Own Decision Matrix

- Whenever you're stuck between options...It's a great way to make more objective decisions.

- Sample Prompt: Compare these choices using a weighted decision matrix. Include cost, time, risk, long-term value, and ease of implementation. Recommend the best option and explain why.

4) Ask ChatGPT What You're Forgetting

- A great way to get ahead of what you may have missed or what others may be thinking after reviewing your work.

- Sample Prompt: Based on what I'm trying to accomplish, what questions should I be asking that I haven't thought of?

5) Create a Reusable Prompt Template

- Instead of rewriting the same prompt every week, have ChatGPT build one for you.

- Sample Prompt: Create a reusable prompt template for generating YouTube descriptions. Use placeholders that I can easily replace each time.
